NAISA makes small grants to help offset costs associated with attending its annual meeting. These costs are limited to Early Conference Registration, Air or Ground Travel, and Hotel rooms. Financial or procedural assistance for securing official travel documentation (e.g passports, visas) is not covered. Given limited funds and in anticipation of a large pool of applicants, a grantee should not expect to receive an amount to cover the entire or even a substantial part of the cost of attending the conference.
Eligibility: Any NAISA member in good standing whose abstract proposal has been accepted for the 2017 Conference and who is listed in the Preliminary Program. If you are so listed and wish to apply for assistance, you must join NAISA or renew your Membership if you have not already done so.
Criteria: Available funds will be dispersed according to the quality of applicant’s conference proposal, financial need, relative access to institutional funding, and contribution to the goals and aspirations of NAISA. Additional criteria include connection to Indigenous Peoples and promotion of geographic, cultural, and/or intellectual diversity.
